LAP New York City Chapter member Jennifer Lipack successfully completed a 26.219 mile run through the five boroughs in the TLC New York City Marathon held on Sunday, November 6, 2016. She was part of the United Way Mission United team running in support of military veterans and their families.
Running a marathon requires grueling training and focus. "Doctors and others said I couldn't do it, including myself. Running a marathon is all mental. My body responded much better than I ever imagined," said Jennifer in a Facebook post. "People ask why I run and the answer is simple. I want to train my mind to be positive and I want to show myself what my body can do, so I can appreciate it more," she said.
Jennifer ia a member of Local 338, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union and the United Food and Commercial Workers, where she is a social worker and MAP director.
